About Me

I get many requests from visitors who want to know who I am so, here is an attempt to share some facts about me.

I'm the cute little blonde in front!!!Once Upon a time, I was voted the cutest cowgirl and sat on Hopalong Cassidy's horse, Topper (that's me in front and my sister Janie is behind me). I was a Star, and I guess that it was my 15 minutes of fame, because I sure haven't won any beauty contests since then. This was taken at the fourth annual Delaware County Horse Show and Country Fair held at Wyola Farms, Newtown Square, PA, the estate of Mr. & Mrs. Frank L. O'Brien, Jr. Trophies were awarded by The Bulletin (the Philadelphia evening newspaper, at the time). The man standing next to the horse is Uncle Pete Boyle who had a children's program on TV at the time. His son is the movie actor Peter Boyle. I still have the trophy and the picture, which I cherish.

By the way, the picture right is of Hopalong Cassidy, who was played by William Boyd on the screen and on TV, with his horse Topper. I put this picture here to show you that I was indeed sitting on the REAL Topper in the picture above. There are web sites devoted to Hopalong Cassidy and here is a link to the official site: The Official Hopalong Cassidy web site

meI grew up in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. My family consisted of five children of which I was the second born. My older sister Janie (in the photo above) died of Multiple Sclorosis in 1982 after having a family herself of three children who are now grown. My younger brother Bob now lives in Ohio with his wife and two daughters. My sister Shirley lives in Blue Bell, PA and is raising her own family of two daughters with her husband, Jeff. The youngest is my brother Jim who lives in NJ like me. I am divorced with one son, Josh.

Currently I live in Southern New Jersey and work in the City of Philadelphia at The University of the Arts where I am the Registrar. I have worked there for over fifteen years. The University of the Arts is the only university dedicated entirely to the arts and was formed in the mid 1980's from two 100 years old colleges, The Philadelphia College of Art and The Philadelphia College of Performing Arts. I have a long history with the University since I graduated from the Philadelphia College of Art with a degree in Painting in 1972.  My son went there too and graduated from the School of Music.  He has his own site at: Joshua Dougherty Trio.

Most of my free time is now spent with web design. I am obsessed, you might say and love creating images in PhotoShop and designing web sites. I'm grateful that my painting background has given me the aesthetic tools to create interesting sites. My web sites are focused in many areas:

  • First, there is LYNNPDesign.com which is my domain and my Internet company. LYNNPDesign offers full web design services. Click on this banner to see my business site.

  • My main interest is classic movies and I have lots of sites devoted to my favorite classic movies, actors, actresses, and directors. I love creating sites about them and some are quite extensive. You can see the sites I have by clicking on the banner below:

This is my humble home, front and back yards. I've lived here in since 1993 and will probably end my days here. I am also interested in gardening and I have planted lots of beautiful plants and vegetables in my backyard. I try to have lots of flowers blooming all summer long as well as good old jersey tomatoes growing in the vegetable garden.

I also collect Snowglobes and have a window sill full of them. Ever since I saw Kitty Foyle and Citizen Kane I have been fascinated by them. I also collect glass Christmas globes.

Quote from The Essential Orson Welles by Martin Fitzgerald: "Cinematograher Gregg Toland had photographed a snow globe in Kitty Foyle a few years earlier. An influence? Certainly." The scene referred to here is the one in which Citizen Kane dies, he drops a snow globe while uttering his dying words of "rosebud" (click here to listen).

Here are some great links to snowglobe sites:
